BhojVerse — Privacy Policy

BhojVerse ("the app") is a Bhojpuri language learning app for Android, published by the BhojVerse developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: your data stays on your device, unless you choose to sign in with Google to back up your learning progress.

1. Data we collect

By default, we collect no personal data. The app works fully offline with no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.

If you choose to sign in with Google (optional), the following is stored in our Google Firebase project so your progress can be backed up and restored on a new device:

• Your Google account email address and display name
• A Firebase user ID (a random identifier for your account)
• Your learning progress: XP, level, streak, practiced words, completed dialogues, grammar topics, proverbs read, stories finished, achievements and saved words

Nothing else is collected. We never see your Google password, contacts, or any other account data.

2. Data stored on your device

To make the app work, the following is saved locally on your phone (using Android app storage):

• Learning progress: practiced words, XP, levels, streaks, achievements
• Flashcard review schedules and quiz results
• Preferences: interface language, theme, notification setting, saved words

This local data is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.

3. Optional cloud backup (Google Sign-In)

Progress backup uses Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore, services operated by Google. Data is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) and stored under your user ID only. It is used solely to sync your progress between your devices — never for advertising or profiling, and it is never sold or shared with third parties. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Firebase Privacy and Security terms.

Signing out stops all syncing. If you never sign in, the app makes no network requests at all.

4. Permissions

• Microphone — used only for the Pronunciation Coach to score your speech. Audio is processed on the device (speech recognition) and is never uploaded or stored.
• Notifications — used only for the optional daily practice reminder you can switch on or off in Settings.

All permissions are optional; the core learning features work without them. The app does not request camera, location, or contacts access.

5. Children

The app is suitable for all ages, shows no ads, and contains no social features or chat with other users. Signing in with Google is optional and not required for any learning feature.

6. Data sharing and selling

We do not share, sell, or transfer any user data to third parties. The only processor involved is Google Firebase (see section 3), which stores backup data on our behalf when you opt in to sign-in.

7. Data deletion

• On-device data: clear the app's storage in Android Settings or uninstall the app.
• Cloud backup data: use "Delete account & data" in the app's Settings, or email us (address below) from your signed-in Google email and we will delete your account data within 30 days.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
